Born in Moscow, 1939.
The participant of all neoconformist underground exhibits in USSR.

“Availability of information, dynamic and fleeting qualities of life – this what is characteristic of our time. I attempt to show this in my painting. Hence, my paintings are glutted with action and nerve. In the opinions of scholars, I am an artist of “fantastic unreality”, an “expressionist”. I, however, consider myself a follower of the realistic painting of the Moscow School.”
Viatcheslav Kalinin.

District Museum in Torun, Poland Plavinsky defines his artistic style as one of Structural Symbolism, in which the unified image of the world is broken down into sequences of symbols submerged in the layers of time: past, present, and future. Different directions of the symbols, incongruous speeds in the temporal space, layers shining one through another—all of this creates an X-ray image of Time Unified.
